We are a small, friendly, local society dedicated to investigating the archaeology of the Marlow area.
There are lots of ways to get involved including
Talks on a wide range of archaeological topics and visits to archaeological sites.
Investigations using a combination of documentary research and fieldwork including accurate contour surveys
fieldwalking
geophysical surveys
excavation
N.B. Previous experience of archaeology is not a pre-requiste - the society runs a number of training sessions for beginners.

We have concentrated our efforts or the past two seasons on a neolithic / bronze age site on the Thames floodplain about
one mile west of Marlow town centre. We have also recently
carried out fieldwork at Cookham and Taplow. All of our fieldwork activities are carried out in accordance with
the guidelines set down by English Heritage, the Institute of Field
Archaeologists and the County Archaeological Service.
The resitivity team takes a well-earned break Members also receive a twice-yearly magazine and monthly e-mail updates of the society's activities. For details of how to join, please go to the contact us
