The Nighthawking Survey - a major investigation into the problem caused by those metal detectorists known as ‘Nighthawks’ who, usually operating at night, and in great secrecy, steal objects from the ground, often with the intention of selling them for personal profit. This seriously damages both archaeological sites and the reputation of responsible metal detectorists.
