Keeping the Grand Junction Canal Afloat

Grans Junction Canal

Thursday 22nd February 2018

by Doug Stuckey, Bucks Archaeological Society.

BAS was asked by the Canals and Rivers Trust to investigate two pumping stations scheduled for redevelopment. These dated from the early days of canal engineering on what is now part of the Grand Union Canal. Some interesting industrial archaeology was revealed.
