Safeguarding

SAFEGUARDINGGood practice and the Charity Commission require that we take all reasonable measures to protect our members and all those with whom we come into contact from physical harm, abuse, coercion and exploitation. We will be respectful of and courteous to others irrespective of gender, age, ethnicity or political or religious persuasion, as required by the society’s Constitution.

We will maintain appropriate arrangements for health and safety, data protection, personal privacy and the conduct of both our management and the organisation of our activities including fieldwork. Minors will only participate in our activities if accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult. We will maintain and regularly review the risks and appropriate mitigation measures
associated with our various activities.

Should anyone consider that an individual or the society has fallen short of our standards as set out above, they should report on the circumstances to a Trustee, who will arrange for an independent review and any subsequent action.
